The first day caught us a little off guard. We expected to drop Micah off and pick him up an hour or so later, but we quickly found out that we were expected to stay the whole time. Let's just say we were a little underdressed for staying, especially with all the other parents in business attire and ready to head off to work soon.
Micah was a little scared and intimidated at first. He LOVED his preschool in Africa and talks regularly about going back. He wasn't sure about this new preschool and held on to the door frame as we tried to get him to go in. We made it through the first day and tried our best to get him excited about his new teacher and going back the next day.
Well, the second morning came and we informed him that he would be going to school without us today, but he would have lots of fun and it would be okay. If you know Micah at all, you know he isn't what you call shy and when Stephen dropped him off he went right into his class and started playing like it was nothing new!!
We are so thankful for his outgoing little personality and his willingness to try new things!! It seems like things are going to be fine and he is going to do well in this new school, as well as quickly surpass Stephen and I in language.

The kids wear these little smocks to school here. The smocks pretty much all look the same, but the pattern changes depending on how old they are. Micah LOVES his, which makes me laugh! He always wants to wear it and of course if Micah is wearing one, then Amarissa thinks she needs to be wearing one too.
